Japan's power company Jera said on Tuesday it is decommissioning four LNG units at the Anegasaki Thermal Power Station, as they move to construct three new units.

"With the understanding and cooperation of the local community and other stakeholders, and taking safety as its top priority, JERA continues to move forward with the construction of new units 1 through 3 at Anegasaki Thermal Power Station," the company said in a statement.

The four plants that are being shut down have been built between 1967 and 1972. Each unit generates 600 MW. The three new units generates 650 MW each.
