ADNOC Gas announced the appointment of Fatema Al Nuaimi as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2025. The appointment follows the resignation of Ahmed Alebri, who has led the company for nearly two years and will transition to his new role as CEO of ADNOC Sour Gas next month.

Al Nuaimi, an accomplished industry leader with extensive experience within ADNOC’s gas and energy sectors, is tasked with steering ADNOC Gas’ ambitious growth strategy focused on business expansion, decarbonisation, and future-proofing operations.

In a statement, ADNOC Gas said, “In her new role, Al Nuaimi will lead the delivery of ADNOC Gas' ambitious business strategy that is focused on growth, decarbonisation, and future proofing.”

Al Nuaimi currently serves as Executive Vice President for Downstream Business Management at ADNOC and brings a wealth of leadership experience to her new position. She previously held the role of CEO at ADNOC LNG from 2019 to 2022, during which she played a key role in advancing the company’s strategic initiatives and optimising ADNOC’s gas master plan. Al Nuaimi also holds influential positions across ADNOC entities, serving on the boards of ADNOC Offshore and Emirates General Petroleum (Emarat), as well as on the executive steering committee of ADIPEC. She additionally chairs ADNOC’s Gender Balance Committee, reinforcing the group’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Under Alebri’s tenure, ADNOC Gas marked several milestones, including its formation at the start of 2023 when ADNOC consolidated its gas processing, LNG, and industrial gas businesses into one entity. ADNOC Gas also achieved a landmark public listing on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), raising approximately $2.5 billion in one of the region’s largest IPOs in recent years. ADNOC’s parent company is reportedly exploring a further 3%-5% stake sale in the gas unit.

As ADNOC Gas continues to grow in scale and importance to Abu Dhabi’s energy strategy, Al Nuaimi’s leadership is expected to drive operational excellence and advance decarbonisation goals in line with the UAE’s energy transition commitments.

Alebri’s move to ADNOC Sour Gas, effective next January, signals further leadership reinforcement across ADNOC Group’s core business areas.

The appointment of Fatema Al Nuaimi marks a notable milestone as ADNOC strengthens its position as a global energy player while prioritising innovation, sustainability, and strategic growth.
