31 oil companies bid in Norway's APA 2021 round

Norway’s energy ministry said that 31 oil companies have submitted bids for exploration acreage offshore Norway in predefined areas (APA) licensing round.

The ministry said that companies seeking new exploration acreage include Equinor, Aker BP, ConocoPhillips and Lundin Energy, Wintershall among others.

In connection with this year's licensing round, the predefined area was expanded in the North Sea, the Norwegian Sea and the Barents Sea, the ministry said in the statement.

The APA round, was first initiated in 2003, which offers unexplored blocks near existing or mature fields.
