Moove Works to Control Fire Within Complex in Rio de Janeiro
(Bloomberg) -- Firefighters in Brazil are working to control a blaze in a plant that produces lubricants in Ilha do Governador in Rio de Janeiro.
All safety protocols are in place, and no injuries or deaths have been reported at the plant owned by Moove Lubricants Holdings, a spokesperson for the company said. The fire hasn’t reached the company’s storage facilities. The cause is yet to be determined.
Nearby residents have been instructed to leave because of smoke, according to local newspapers. The plant wasn’t in operation at the time of the fire, the company added.
Moove, one of the country’s main lubricant companies, is a subsidiary of Brazilian conglomerate Cosan SA, which invests in agriculture, fuel and natural gas distribution.
Moove specializes in the formulation, manufacturing, distribution and sale of a range of lubricant products used for autos, commercial vehicles and industrial equipment, according to its website.
