McDermott launches carbon footprint calculator

McDermott International has launched a web-based tool that can calculate the carbon footprint for energy customers.

ArborXD provides data collection, estimation and reporting on the potential carbon impact of the energy-related facilities before the entities begin constructions, the company said in a statement on Thursday. It is applied throughout the cycle of the project.

“It is an energy industry differentiator that will help quantifiably reduce the operating footprint of the facilities we design and build,” Samik Mukherjee, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of McDermott, said in the statement.

The web-based tool provides estimates such as cost trade-off analyses, emission reduction pathways and environmental impact assessments.
