Wood Mackenzie Chairman: industry needs to pick up the pace on decarbonisation
In a wide-ranging studio interview in Houston, Chiranjib Sengupta sat down with Simon Flowers, Chairman and Chief Analyst at Wood Mackenzie, to discuss structural challenges that the natural gas and LNG industry need to overcome to keep the momentum going, and how the sector is progressing on decarbonisation. Underscoring the need for new supply and sustained demand growth, Simon explained how the industry is pivoting around the themes of carbon capture, the transformational impact of AI, and reducing emissions throughout the value chain. He also highlighted the significant potential of naturally occurring white hydrogen as a source of low-carbon energy for the industry, which could become an important market niche over the next decades.
