Cairn: leveraging innovation to secure India’s energy supply

In an exclusive studio interview at India Energy Week 2025, Chiranjib Sengupta spoke to Hitesh Vaid, Chief Financial Officer at Cairn Oil and Gas Vedanta Ltd, to discuss the company’s ambitious vision to contribute to 50% of India’s domestic hydrocarbon production and support the country’s journey to become energy self-sufficient. Vaid highlighted how Cairn was well set on this goal not only with increasing annual investments and production in the sector, but also by accelerating technological innovation, focusing on sustainable operations, embracing renewables and diversifying its energy mix to help realise India’s vision of a gas-based economy.
